Cat Balou got off to a good start this morning finding a large pod of Bottlenose Dolphins near the Eden breakwall. It took a while to find our first whales but caught up with a mother & calf near Leonard’s Island. This pod gave us some close encounters.

We later headed east and joined Sensational watching a super pod of adults. We managed to get fluke photos from 9 different animals. Several whales had very distinctive flukes. Two pods of Common dolphins were also seen making an excellent mornings viewing.

A coach group from Maitland on a Twofold Bay lunch cruise received ad added bonus watching an active calf pedunle throwing with the mother pec slapping in Twofold Bay. Bottlenose dolphins were also seen.
