What a morning!

With a freshening NE wind (our worst) we were hoping to find whales early in the cruise and this is exactly what happened. Just after leaving the Eden Wharf we spotted a breaching calf on the southern side of Twofold Bay. As we approached we discovered two mother/calf pods with very playful calves with too many breaches to count. They slowly headed around South Head and in the same area we found another three pods. One mother breached at close range several times, showing just how big the Humpback whales are.

Back in Twofold Bay we found a large pod of Bottlenose Dolphins swimming along Aslings Beach.

Afternoon cruise was cancelled due to the strong NE.
