What a treat, today we had a mother and calf inside the bay. In close to The Lookout they both came in close to the boat to have a look and then delighted all on board with some breaching quite close to us. We then headed down to Mowarry and found another couple who were also breaching along with head lunges and close passed by the boat.
On this afternoons cruise we headed back down to Mowarry to find a mother and calf along with an escort. Again we were treated to head lunges along with some tail slaps.

In challenging conditions today we saw a whale south east of Mowarry and then another two whales north east of Boyds Tower. It was quite choppy and difficult to keep sight of the whales, we could see whales breaching off in the distance but due to the conditions were unable to go out to them.

Monday 17 September 2018
We travelled out toward Mew stone this morning in beautiful calm, sunny conditions and found a pod of 3 whales who were quickly joined by another 2 and they all then began lateral lunge feeding right in front of us. Once they had finished feeding 2-3 of them came in nice and close, spy hopping and cruising all around the boat. Not sure if they were people watching or we were whale watching today.
