Early this morning we sighted 4 pods of whales within Twofold Bay before we departed.
Heading to the southern side of the bay we found two mother/calf pods frolicking near South Head. Both mothers were massive! We followed them south with a number of breaches from the calves. Nearby another two mother/calf pods plus an escort also provided food viewing for passengers. Another couple of pods were also close by.
Back in Twofold Bay we found another two pods with the whales only metres from the shore near Honeysuckle Bay.
The coach group on a later bay cruisesalso got to see a mother, calf & escort near the chipmill wharf.
